What do I mean when I talk about this wild and unconventional concept of knowing yourself *that* well?

let's be real.

It's terrifying when your body gets sick.

It was my worst fear. I'd lost my parents when they were too young to die, yet even though I knew I was 'high risk' I still ate, thought and felt the same as they had. When I was diagnosed with cancer myself, it was like a bolt of lightning that jolted me out of the attitude trap. 

i realised I*COULD* change.

Genetics run in families, but so do attitudes. How we think impacts our biochemistry, we can literally think ourselves sick. I am genetically high risk, but at a higher risk of a live fast, die young attitude that both my parents mastered. They were escaping 'small minded' parenting. They gave me big a minded upbringing and a severe lack of love for my body.
 
My generational task has been to elevate the big minded approach whilst learning to live in a body I love.

To stop the 'this or that' thinking. And instead live the 'both and more' mindset.

Being sick with a life threatening illness can do one of two things; make you desperate to get back to the life you had or make you dream about the life you want. Not just for you, for your family, those you love, your work and for the generations following in your footsteps. There is no right answer, but both do this:

Emotions live in your body. If they're stuck, they cause havoc like an ulcerated wound that never mends. Learning to process old emotions to heal past trauma and present day illness requires your inner wisdom to step in. You need a clean vessel, a reframed mind and the belief in yourself.

How to get comfortable with the unknown

The brain hates pain and change is pain. Getting ready ahead of time for discomfort takes out the emotional sting.  I have a formula for that.
